Police appeal for witnesses after hit and run collision in Northumberland

An appeal for witnesses has been launched following a hit-and-run collision in Northumberland.

The incident happened at around 4pm on Friday between a car and a heavy goods vehicle on Berwick Hill Road in Ponteland.

The driver of the heavy goods vehicle left the scene in the aftermath, and the incident was reported to Northumbria Police.

The car driver a woman aged in her 60s – was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
