Newcastle defender Kieran Trippier will leave the club this summer when his contract at St James' Park expires.

The former England international joined from Atletico Madrid in 2022 and helped the club win its first trophy in 70 years in last season's EFL Cup triumph.

Trippier joined the club in January 2022 when Newcastle United were positioned in the relegation zone.

He says it's going to be emotional to leave, as Newcastle is where he's felt "most at home" during his career.

“The time has come to leave this amazing club after four and a half years. This is where I’ve felt most at home. It’s emotional, and I’m really going to miss it.

“I want to say a massive thank you to the supporters for all the support through the good and the bad times. You’ve always supported me, always stood by me"
