A child's been bitten on a Metro train in North Tyneside.

It's reported to have taken place last month - when a 5 year old suffered a puncture mark and bruising to his arm.

He went to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.

Northumbria Police received a report that just after 12.05pm on Saturday, April 5, a five-year-old boy was bitten on his left arm by a dog while on the Metro travelling between Benton and Palmersville stations.

An investigation is underway.
