A group of friends from Lifelong Ability North East have started a social media account to help others find accessible dining options across the region.

Dine-Ability North East is aimed at highlighting restaurants with great accessibility features and promoting inclusive dining experiences.

Every Friday, the four friends venture into different areas, including Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham, and parts of the coast, to review eateries and assess features like wheelchair access, seating arrangements, and toilet facilities.

The group also shares feedback for venues looking to improve accessibility, posting honest reviews and practical tips to encourage more welcoming environments.

The project has been met with positive reactions from local businesses and the community, as they celebrate the importance of inclusion.

You can follow Dine-Ability North East’s journey on social media, where they document their restaurant visits and share updates weekly.
