Woman and motorcyclist seriously injured in A143 collision near Earsham

Police seek witnesses and dashcam footage following major incident involving a pedestrian, motorcycle and car

Police are appealing for information after a serious road traffic collision on the A143 near Earsham left two people with significant injuries.

The crash occurred on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, as a motorcycle was travelling towards Harleston. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was crossing the A143 from a public footpath on the Earsham side while pushing a bicycle when the collision happened. The motorcycle was subsequently involved in a second collision with a blue Ford Fiesta.

The woman suffered severe, life-changing injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for specialist treatment.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, also sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta was unhurt.

Emergency services attended the scene, with road closures remaining in place overnight. The route was fully reopened at 5.36am on Wednesday, 24 June.

Investigating officers are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have captured relevant dashcam footage before the collision, to come forward.

Police are particularly interested in information relating to the movements and manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to the crash.
