Witnesses sought after serious crash on A47 in Terrington St John

Woman in 50s suffers severe injuries in car collision

Police are seeking witnesses following a serious crash involving three cars on the A47 in Terrington St John.

The incident occurred at 10:53 am on Sunday, 17th May 2026.

A grey Audi collided with a grey VW Tayron and a red Vauxhall Corsa, all travelling in the direction of Wisbech.

The driver of the VW Tayron, a woman in her 50s, suffered potentially life-changing or life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital.

Drivers of the Audi and Vauxhall sustained minor injuries.

Following the accident, police closed the slip road at Terrington St John as investigations were conducted.

A man in his 40s driving the Audi was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre and has been bailed until 25th May.

Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or noticed the manner of driving prior to the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to get in touch.
