Witness appeal after rapes in Great Yarmouth as hunt for second suspect continues
Police support victims following shocking incident
Police are appealing for witnesses after two teenage girls were reportedly raped in Great Yarmouth.
Officers responded to reports on South Beach Parade at 12.37am on Saturday, 16th May 2026.
An investigation was launched, with a police cordon established at the scene while enquiries were carried out. This cordon has now been lifted.
A man in his 30s was arrested in Northamptonshire on 17th May on suspicion of rape and remains in custody at King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Efforts are ongoing to identify and locate a second suspect still outstanding. He is described as a white man with short dark hair, dark facial hair, aged in his 30s or 40s, wearing blue jeans and a dark green jacket with white stripes on both sleeves.
Chief Inspector Nick Paling, district commander for Great Yarmouth, stated:
“We recognise how shocking and distressing these incidents are for the victims, their families, and the wider community. Specialist officers have been deployed to support both girls as we work through this investigation."
“There will be an increased police presence in the area, with officers carrying out reassurance patrols. Please do approach them if you have any concerns or information."
