Man jailed for violent knife attack in Great Yarmouth

The 44 year old punched the victim in the head and tried to slash him with a knife

A man has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for a violent attack involving a knife in Great Yarmouth.

Lee Trench, aged 44 and of no fixed address, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on 16th March, charged with wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The assault took place on 4th November 2025 when Trench engaged in a verbal confrontation with another individual inside a building on Hall Plain.

The altercation escalated when Trench proceeded to punch the victim repeatedly in the head.

He then grabbed a kitchen knife and attempted to slash the victim.

Using the handle of the knife, Trench struck the victim multiple times before fleeing.

Police traced Trench to Elsie Road, Cobholm, where he was arrested on 10th November 2025.

After being questioned at the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, Trench received his prison sentence and was ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge.
