Train services are facing significant disruption after a person was hit by a train between Witham and Shenfield.

Greater Anglia has reported that all lines through these stations are currently blocked. Emergency services and Network Rail staff are on their way to the scene of the incident to assess the situation.

Routes affected include services between Stratford and Braintree, Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich, and Norwich. Trains may be cancelled, delayed, or subject to short-notice changes until further notice.

Advance purchase ticket holders will be allowed to board earlier or later trains if their scheduled service is affected.

Greater Anglia is working to organise replacement bus services, and tickets are being accepted on local buses operating between Chelmsford, Colchester, Stansted Airport, Brentwood, Witham, and Billericay.

Passengers are advised to check for updates before travelling and allow extra time for journeys.
