Three teenagers arrested following assault in Norwich
Officers were called to the Haymarket after reports a number of young people had gathered and a teenager had been assaulted
Three teenagers have been arrested following an incident in Norwich city centre yesterday (Thursday 20 August 2026).
Officers were called to the Haymarket at around 6.15pm following reports a number of young people had gathered and a teenager had been assaulted.
The victim, a girl in her teens, was taken to hospital for treatment.
Two teenage girls were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault (ABH).
Following enquiries a third girl in her teens was arrested in Norwich this morning (Friday 21 August) on suspicion of GBH.
All three were taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they remain.
A Section 34 dispersal order was put in place the Haymarket yesterday, which allows officers to exclude a person, or people, from the area for up to 48 hours through written notice.
Norfolk Police says the aim of the notice is to minimise behaviour contributing to, or likely to contribute to anti-social behaviour or crime or disorder in a specific area.
