Police seek witnesses after serious collision on Loddon Road in Hellington

Seven people have been hospitalised following the crash between a van and a car.

Police are appealing for witnesses after seven people, including several seriously injured, were hospitalised following a crash on Loddon Road in Hellington on 22nd December.

The collision occurred at 5.24pm on the A146 between a blue Renault Master van and a white Volvo XC40 travelling in opposite directions.

The driver of the van, a man in his 80s, suffered life-threatening injuries. Two passengers, a man in his 50s and a man in his late teens, were also seriously injured.

All three were transported to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Volvo, a woman in her 60s, was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to James Paget Hospital.

Two of her passengers, a man in his 70s and a man in his 50s, were also seriously injured and taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment.

Road closures remained in place until 12.42am on 23rd December.

Officers are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has relevant dashcam footage to come forward and assist with their investigation.
