The RSPCA is appealing for information, after a sick, heavily pregnant Jack Russell Terrier was found in Wymondham.

The dog was taken to a nearby vets. for urgent treatment. where it was found her puppies had all died and she was suffering from septic shock. Despite the best efforts of the veterinary team, she crashed and was then put to sleep, to prevent her suffering further.

The incident was reported to the RSPCA, which is now investigating.

The dog, who was tan in colour and around three years old, was found on September 11, at around 1pm, in the Post Mill Close area, near Morrisons supermarket.

She was taken to a vet, by a member of the public and it was found that all her puppies had died inside her.

A microchip was checked, but the previous owner said they had re-homed the dog a year ago.

The RSPCA is now keen to find the current owner of the dog, who was called Peaches.

RSPCA Animal Rescue Officer, Julie Holmes, is investigating and said: “It is heartbreaking that Peaches was found abandoned in such a poorly state. She would have been in so much pain and it’s awful to think someone deliberately left her in such a suffering state, instead of seeking urgent veterinary care.

“Everyone is devastated that she didn’t make it and we are keen to find the person responsible for her.

“I would appeal to anyone who may know who owned her, or knows anyone that had recently taken on a pregnant Jack Russell dog.

“I am appealing for information and anyone who can help is urged to call the RPSCA inspector appeal line, on 0300 123 8018, quoting incident 01902543.”
