Five arrested as police shut down unlicensed music event Little Snoring

Five individuals have been taken into custody after an unlicensed music event in Little Snoring was shut down by police during the early hours of Sunday morning.

Norfolk Police were called to an event near Thursford Road shortly after 1am on 23rd August.

Upon arrival, officers seized sound equipment connected to the event.

According to police, the arrests included charges such as drug driving, drink driving, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, and conducting an activity without a licence.

Nearby residents of Great Snoring took to social media, complaining that the music was clearly audible throughout the night.

Police blocked access to the location to prevent further attendance and maintained observation of the event until it was shut down.

An investigation is currently underway to uncover the organisers behind the gathering.

Superintendent Craig Miller announced: "We are committed to doing everything we can to prevent, disrupt and stop these events from taking place, while reducing their impact on local communities.

"I would like to thank the landowner and members of the local community for their patience and understanding while we worked to shut down the event as quickly and safely as possible.

"Unauthorised music events such as this can cause significant disruption and often result in damage to the natural environment. As they are not required to meet recognised safety standards, they can also place attendees at risk.

"Our work does not end with the closure of the event, and investigations into those responsible and the circumstances surrounding it will continue."
