Photos have captured the devastating damage inflicted on two homes in Kenninghall following a field fire that spread rapidly to nearby houses.

The fire began in a local field and was able to reach neighbouring homes, necessitating a large-scale response from Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service. on Sunday (9 August).

Equipment and manpower from Diss, Attleborough, Wymondham, Thetford, Hingham, Carrow, Watton, Earlham, Thetford, and Mundesley were deployed, alongside tactical response vehicles and a water carrier.

While seven other homes on the affected street were protected from extensive harm, they did suffer some damage.

Efforts are currently focused on an investigation to identify the cause of the fire.

Officials thanked the community for their vigilance and prompt actions in calling 999, emphasising the potential for wildfires to impact both rural and urban zones.
