The local mum of a boy with SEN needs tells us she doesn't think the education system will ever be properly fixed.

It follows warnings there could be a £6 billion blackhole in funding for teaching SEN children, if no reforms come.

Government reforms are expected to be announced within weeks - including plans to teach SEND pupils closer to home and in mainstream schools in England.

"It's fighting a broken system, that's really in the depths now"

"Once you've finished fighting to get your child into a school, you've still got to fight to get your child's needs met.

"Things like therapy and jobs, that all comes on evidence and it's fighting a broken system, that's really in the depths now.

She told us upcoming reforms need to focus on:

"You just need to support children more, you got around 266 thousand children who are on the SEND register with Education, Health and Care Plans.

"It's a big change over a short period of time and that's largely thanks to awareness around it"
