A herd of brightly coloured safari animals have appeared across Norwich and parts of Norfolk. It comes as part of a new public art trail organised by local charity, Break.

The GoGoSafari trail features more than 50 large sculptures of giraffes, lions, elephants, rhinos and gorillas, all designed by local artists and sponsored by businesses. They're waiting to be found by the community over the next ten weeks.

The aim is to raise money to support young people in, and those leaving care.

Neil Park is from the charity, he says the trail is not just a spectacle for visitors, but also a vital source of funding:

"The impact to Norwich is really important, but actually the impact to young people is just as life changing. We look after these young people who have had really difficult backgrounds. We build life-long relationships with them based on our principles of care, love and ambition."

Alongside the main trail are over 60 'Mini G' sculptures, designed and decorated by schools and community groups across Norfolk. They are being displayed in shop windows and key locations in Norwich city centre.

This is the latest in a series of sculpture trails run by 'Break' following previous projects featuring Dinosaurs, Hares and Gorillas.

Once the current trail ends, the artwork will be exhibited at local zoos before being auctioned to raise further funds for the charity.

'Break' says the community has been central to bringing the trail to life, with hundreds of artists submitting designs and local schools, businesses and volunteers playing a vital role.
