Norwich’s Eaton Park Café has become the first ever hospitality venue in the city to sign an agreement recognising its workers’ chosen union.

It sets out negotiating structures for issues such as pay, terms and conditions and dispute procedures.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “I am proud of the efforts of our workplace reps Liam and Freddie to secure this agreement with Eaton Park Café. I hope it will inspire even more hospitality workers to organise with Unite at their workplaces for better jobs, pay and conditions.”

The majority of Eaton Park Café’s staff are members of Unite, which represents thousands of workers across the country in restaurants, bars and hotels.

Unite hospitality project worker, Kevin Reynolds, said: “We look forward to Unite members working with the Eaton Park Café to achieve the best possible outcome for staff."
