Norwich City Women have confirmed the departure of head coach Andy Cook and assistant coach Ethan Scott following the club’s recent promotion to Tier 3 of the women’s football pyramid.

Cook arrived at the club in the summer of 2024 from Newcastle United Women, where he had served as assistant coach. In his second season at Carrow Road, he guided the Canaries to promotion after a play-off final victory over Moneyfields last weekend.

Assistant coach Ethan Scott also leaves his role. He had been part of Norwich’s women’s set-up since 2018, initially working with the reserve team before stepping up to the senior coaching staff in 2021.

Head of women’s football Flo Allen described the decision as a challenging one, highlighting Cook’s achievement in meeting the club’s primary objective of securing promotion.

She praised both departing coaches for their commitment and contribution, while noting the need to reassess the direction of the programme to ensure Norwich remain competitive at Tier 3 level.

Allen paid tribute to their efforts, saying they “left no stone unturned” during their time with the team and extended her thanks and best wishes for their future careers.

The club also issued its appreciation to both Cook and Scott, recognising their work and impact during their tenure.

Norwich City Women will now begin the process of appointing a new head coach and assistant coach as they prepare for life in Tier 3.
