Police are eager to trace a key witness who assisted a woman following an assault in Norwich.

The incident occurred on Mousehold Lane around 12:30am on 29th June 2026.

Authorities responded to reports of a man and woman, who were acquainted, having an argument in the street during which the woman was assaulted.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of common assault and attempted choking/strangulation.

He is currently being questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.

Officers are particularly keen on identifying a man who was driving a silver car and stopped to check on the woman, as his account may provide vital information.
