Woman in her 90s dies after assault at Rollesby care home

Investigation underway following police arrest at the scene

A police investigation is in progress following the death of a woman in her 90s who was assaulted at a residential care home in Rollesby, Norfolk.

The incident occurred at an address on Main Road, with authorities responding to the call at 7.24pm on 13th April 2026.

The victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported to the hospital but sadly passed away on 19th April.

At the scene, police arrested a man in his 60s, suspected of attempted murder, who has subsequently been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Both the victim and suspect were residents of the care home where the assault took place.

Investigations are underway to determine the events surrounding the tragic incident.

Norfolk Police continue to conduct enquiries aimed at establishing the circumstances which led to the victim's death.

The community is urged to remain patient as the investigation unfolds, with updates expected to follow.
