"This needs to be done and the Government needs to step up"

Margaret Oakes’ lives in North Walsham. Her son James was stabbed to death three years ago:

"All our schools need 'control the bleed' kits in them. Ideally more than one. They're not just something that can be used to treat stabbings, they can be used in any accident.

"If they had them- this would help give somebody the vital minutes they need.

"Knife arches are also needed at site entrances, as well as full identity checks before you can enter. This needs to be done and the Government needs to step up.

"How many more people need to be killed or injured through knife crime before the Government steps up and gets this sorted up.

"Education on this from an early age is also key".

What have school bosses said?

Statement from Owen Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer of Broad Horizons Education Trust:

"We have clear procedures in place and our staff acted swiftly, with the whole school going into lockdown with children staying in their classroom with their teacher. One of our students was injured and is now being treated in hospital for minor injuries. This has obviously been a distressing experience for our whole community and our focus now is on making sure all students feel supported as we begin to understand what happened."
