Norwich fans we've been speaking to say Norwich's next head coach must build on the foundations put in place, this season

Johannes Hoff Thorup left the club yesterday. The Canaries sit 14th in the Championship, after scoring plenty but struggling to keep a clean sheet.

Their 3-1 Easter Monday defeat at Millwall being their fourth loss in five games.

Danish coach Hoff Thorup was appointed on a three-year deal last May and leaves Norwich alongside his assistant Glen Riddersholm.

Jack Wilshere will take charge of Norwich's final two games of the season.

Norwich visit play-off-chasing Middlesbrough on Saturday before hosting relegation-threatened Cardiff in their final game of the season on May 3.

"We need to make sure that the next appointment is spot on"

Rob Sainty is chair of the club's supporters group- 'The Canaries Trust':

"Having now gone through three managers in three seasons, we've got to make sure we don't become a club with a constantly revolving door at the heart of it.

"We need to make sure that the next appointment is spot on, but there are so many variables there".

Lorraine Taylor has supported the club for over half a century:

"We've got to think long-term here. We need to go for a coach who is young and hungry, but who also has a good amount of experience of the championship or English football.

Chris Newby follows the club from Portugal:

"To implement a new way of playing take time, you just need to look at Manchester United to see that".

"Recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us to make a change"

Sporting director Ben Knapper told the club website:

"Whilst we made this appointment with a long-term focus and in line with our wider club strategy and direction, unfortunately recent results and performances have deemed it necessary for us to make a change."

Knapper added: "I'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to Johannes and Glen.

"They are both fantastic people who worked tirelessly to help improve and move our football club forward.

"We all wish the two of them the best in the next stage of their respective careers."
