Man appears in court after 12-hour standoff with police in Narborough

Over the period a man was threatening to harm himself and others

A man from Narborough has appeared in court following a 12 hour standoff incident earlier this month.

Kelvin Powley, 47, of Meadow Close, Narborough, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 7 February charged with criminal damage - recklessly endangering life, two counts of assaulting of an emergency worker and one count of assault.

He has been remanded to appear at Norwich Crown Court on Monday 9 March 2026 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Officers were called to reports of a concern for safety at a property in Meadow Close at 4.38pm where a man was threatening to harm himself and others over a 12-hour period.

The incident was safely resolved in the early hours of Friday 6 February Friday when the man was taken by ambulance to hospital for treatment.
