Man dies after entering river in Norwich

Emergency services were unable to save the man in his 40s

A man has tragically died after entering a river in Norwich over the weekend.

Police received a call at 00.28am on Sunday, 31st May 2026, alerting them to reports that a man had entered the water on Riverside Road and had not resurfaced.

Emergency services, including fire and ambulance crews, attended the scene and managed to pull a man in his 40s from the river.

He was transported to hospital but sadly passed away despite efforts to save him.

Investigation Details

Authorities have indicated that the death is not considered suspicious.

A file is currently being prepared for the coroner to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
