Man, 22, charged with murder after elderly man stabbed in Norwich

A 22-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a man in his 70s in Norwich.
Moses Fernandes, a British national from Layer Close, Norwich, was charged after police were called to a property on Layer Close on Monday morning (3rd November).
Officers attended at around 4.45am after East of England Ambulance Service reported that a man, in his 20s, was behaving aggressively after calling for help over breathing difficulties.
When officers arrived, they found a man in his 70s with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene and taken to hospital for treatment. He was discharged later that morning and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre, where an extension was authorised to continue questioning.
Following further investigation, Mr Fernandes was charged with murder.
He is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court this morning (5th November 2025).
