Man charged with attempted murder after collision

A man charged with attempted murder, after a serious collision in Norwich, has appeared in court today (11 May 2026).
David Morgan, 40, of George Winter Court, appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with attempted murder and driving with excess alcohol and has been remanded to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 8 June 2026.
Officers were called to reports the driver of a white Mercedes C180 car had deliberately hit a cyclist on Chartwell Road in Norwich just after 5pm on Friday (8 May 2026).
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered serious head injuries and remains in hospital, in a critical condition.
The Mercedes driver, a man in his 40s, failed to stop at the scene and was later arrested in Bignold Road, Norwich, shortly before 7pm on Friday and questioned at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre.
