Arrest after body of man in 80s found near Wisbech

The man's death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'

A man has been arrested following the discovery of the body of a man in his 80s in Outwell, near Wisbech

Police were called to a property in Rectory Road at around 12.40pm on Saturday 6 June 2026 where the body of a man had been discovered inside.

The cause of death is currently considered unexplained, as police continue to investigate the circumstances.

A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and questioned at King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre.

He has since been released on bail and is due to return to King’s Lynn PIC on 14th September 2026.

A Home Office postmortem examination conducted last week was unable to determine the cause of death, prompting further tests.
