Man arrested following firearm incident in North Walsham

A man in his 50s was taken into custody this morning

A man has been arrested following a firearm incident in North Walsham.

Norfolk Police were called to New Road at around 8.15am today (18 March) following reports of a man with a gun.

A man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. No one was injured.

He was taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

An imitation firearm has been seized by officers.

The road was closed whilst officers dealt with the incident but it has since reopened.
