Two divers have been safely rescued off the coast of Norfolk after their boat suffered engine failure.

Volunteer crews from Wells RNLI launched two lifeboats on Sunday (28 June).

Approximately three nautical miles offshore, divers were exploring shipwrecks near the Blakeney Overfalls sandbank when their boat failed to manoeuvre, leaving them unable to return on their own.

The divers were rescued and did not require any medical treatment and the dive boat was towed back to Wells Harbour.

The RNLI advises ensuring vessels are well-maintained, reliable communication devices are onboard, and someone ashore knows your plans.
