Jury finds man not guilty of manslaughter after death of 50-year-old in Thorpe Market

A 50-year-old man has been not guilty of manslaughter following the death of a man in Thorpe Market.

The case relates to an incident that happened on Station Road on Friday 17 September 2021, when officers were called to reports of an altercation near the Suffield Arms.

A man aged in his 50s was taken to hospital with life threatening head injuries.

He died on Thursday 23 September 2021.

Following a trial at Norwich Crown Court, Roland Wiles was found not guilty by a unanimous jury on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
