Police are appealing for witnesses as they continue to establish the circumstances around reports a man had been stabbed on Wednesday 12th March in Norwich.

Officers are carrying out further investigations, including carrying out house to house enquiries, viewing CCTV and taking witness statements following reports a man had been stabbed at around 2pm. Police were called to assist ambulance at Cathedral Close after the man was believed to have suffered the injuries earlier in the day.

Detective Inspector Duncan Woodhams said: “We are working through CCTV and a number of lines of enquiry. The victim, a man in his 20s, is still receiving medical treatment.

“We do believe this is an isolated incident and we are not linking this to any other incident at the moment. We do not believe there is any wider threat to the community but understand this can cause distress. We will be providing reassurance through high-visibility foot patrols over the weekend.

“We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to get in touch.”

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch.
