Police make dashcam footage appeal in Thorpe St Andrew murder investigation

A man in his 60s remains in custody after detectives were granted more time for questioning.

Police are appealing for dashcam footage as they try to establish the circumstances of a woman's death in Thorpe St Andrew.

They would like anyone who has captured dashcam footage on the Yarmouth Road, in the 45 minute period between 11pm and 11.45pm on Saturday 17 January to pass it through to them.

The murder investigation after officers were called to reports a woman was injured in the street at Catherine Gardens just before 11.45pm on Saturday.

Detective Inspector Sam Pontin, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, leading the enquiry, said: “We are requesting any dashcam footage during this time period to be submitted to us to see if it captures anything that would be helpful to our investigation. We would be particularly interested in footage from taxi drivers who may have been in the area at the time. The footage does not need to be reviewed before sending to us. We are grateful for the public's ongoing support at this time."

A man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of murder in Dereham Road in the early hours of Sunday. He was taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He currently remains there after detectives were granted more time to question him in connection with the death.
