A man who subjected another man to a terrifying knife-point rape after entering his home as a stranger has been jailed.

Kurtis Harper, of Ordnance Road, Great Yarmouth entered the man’s address on 14 December 2024 and subjected him to the knife-point attack.

He was convicted by a unanimous jury verdict following a 6 day trial at Norwich Crown Court on 24 June.

He appeared for sentencing on Friday 29 August 2025 where he was handed a life sentence, to serve a minimum of 11 years and 109 days.

A forfeiture and destruction order was also made for or the knife.

In a statement read to the court the victim described the profound impact the assault had had on all areas of his life.

The court heard how the victim, who had been asleep in his own home, awoke to find Harper – a complete stranger – standing over him armed with a knife.

Speaking after the sentencing investigating officer DC Matthew Hubbard said: “This was a horrifying attack carried out at knife point in the victim’s own home by a man he did not know.

The victim has shown immense bravery throughout the investigation and this has resulted in a dangerous offender being brought to justice."
