Justin Rundle hands himself in to police on charges of assault
A district councillor representing Ormesby on Great Yarmouth Borough Council is under investigation after handing himself in to police.
Justin Rundle, 49, is facing charges of assault, possession of a blade in public, and resisting arrest, which stem from an incident on 22nd June in Caister-On-Sea.
He was due to attend a hearing at Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, but his non-appearance led to a warrant being issued for his arrest.
Rundle turned himself in this morning and is now being questioned at the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
The charges are linked to reports of a man allegedly threatening a woman at a property on Tamarisk Drive.
Rundle has been a district councillor since 2023 and previously served on the Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby Parish Council.
