Family pays tribute to 15-year-old girl as MDMA supply charges brought in Gorleston
Lilly McCarthy fell unwell at a home in Hopton before she died in hospital later that day
The family of a 15-year-old girl who died last month before two teenagers were arrested on suspicion of drug offences have paid tribute to her.
Lilly McCarthy has been described as a "bright, happy and funny" individual after she passed away in hospital on 24th January 2026.
She had unwell at a home in Hopton earlier that day.
In their tribute, Lilly's family expressed their heartbreak, saying, "Our hearts are completely broken. Lilly was a bright, happy and funny girl who made a massive impact on everyone lucky enough to have her in their lives. She had a presence that lit up a room."
They added, "The loss we feel is the most extreme kind of loss that no family should ever have to endure and leaves a hole in our lives that can never be filled."
Following Lilly's death, two 18-year-olds have been charged with supplying MDMA and being concerned in its supply.
Both individuals have been held in custody and are scheduled to appear at Norwich Crown Court on 25th February 2026.
