A 36-year-old man from East Harling has been jailed for more than three and a half years after filming himself driving at speeds of up to 119mph while disqualified.

John Scott, residing on Spinney Drive, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court yesterday after pleading guilty to supplying cocaine, possessing cannabis, and dangerous driving.

Scott received a prison sentence of three years and nine months and has been disqualified from driving for 10 years.

Officers arrested Scott on 12th December 2025 after recognising him as wanted for drug offences.

Upon arrest, his mobile phone was seized, revealing its use in cocaine supply across the Breckland area.

Reviewing the device, police discovered several videos showing Scott driving dangerously.

On one video from 7th December 2025, Scott is captured driving from Thetford to Diss on the A1066, reaching speeds up to 104mph.

He then accelerates to 119mph on a single-carriageway country road, almost double the national speed limit.

Another video recorded on 16th June 2025 shows Scott singing while driving near Banham.

All footage was filmed while Scott was disqualified, having been banned from driving for 60 months in December 2024.

Investigating officer PC Charlie Large commented on the sentencing: “John Scott showed a total disregard for the safety of others — both through his involvement in drug supply and his dangerous driving. We know drugs cause real harm within our communities - destroying lives and fuelling further criminality. We are committed to tackling those like Scott who choose to profit from this misery.”

PC Large added: “Furthermore, Scott’s repeated use of his mobile phone while driving, combined with the excessive speeds he filmed himself reaching, is astounding. It is remarkable that no one was hurt. I hope today’s sentence serves as a deterrent to anyone considering becoming involved in drug supply or engaging in such reckless behaviour behind the wheel on Norfolk’s roads.”
