Man in his 60s dies after sea rescue near Caister

Death not treated as suspicious, police confirm

A man has died after he was rescued from the sea near Caister.

Norfolk Police were called out shortly after 6:30pm on Tuesday (30 June) after a lifeboat crew reported the recovery of the man who had been on board a before entering the water.

The vessel headed to port in Great Yarmouth while crew members attempted CPR.

Further assistance was provided when a Coastguard helicopter arrived, winching a paramedic onto the boat, but the man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are not treating the death as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

The police seal on the vessel has since been removed and next of kin have been informed.
