Man arrested after knife assault in Aylsham

Victim hospitalised with serious injuries but has been discharged

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a knife assault in Aylsham during the early hours of Friday morning, 19th June 2026.

The incident occurred at around 12.26am in Market Place, where police, including firearms officers, discovered the victim—who was in his 30s—suffering from knife injuries.

Medical Attention and Arrest

The victim was promptly taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, receiving treatment for his serious injuries.

He has since been discharged.

The suspect was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and dangerous driving.

He is currently held at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the assault.
