Norfolk Constabulary launched a trial of a new reporting tool this week (Monday 11 August).

It enables the public to tell the police anonymously if they know someone who regularly drives under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The form can be found here, and allows people to give the police the details they need to investigate.

The form feeds directly into Norfolk Constabulary's control room, where it will be allocated to an officer to action. Police will not know who has submitted it.

The trial will run throughout August and could become permanent if successful.

Insp Will Drummond said: “We know there are people who have concerns but are anxious about reporting it to us, as they may be close to the offender. It could be a family member or a friend.

“This tool means that people can help us to remove dangerous drivers from Norfolk’s roads without the worry of any potential backlash.”
