Police appeal after three-vehicle crash on A140 near Erpingham

A man in his 80s developed serious injuries weeks after crash.

Police are seeking witnesses after a three-vehicle collision on the A140 between Erpingham and Hanworth, which occurred at 1:20pm on Tuesday, 9th December 2025.

The crash, near the junction of Church Road, involved a black Volkswagen Caddy van, a white Ford B Max, and a DAF lorry.

The driver of the Ford B Max, a man in his 80s, initially sustained minor injuries but developed more severe injuries weeks later, prompting his admission to Addenbrooke’s Hospital on 2nd January 2026.

The drivers of the Volkswagen Caddy and DAF lorry, men in their 40s and 50s respectively, sustained minor injuries during the collision.

Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the manner in which the black Volkswagen Caddy was being driven before the collision occurred.

Police urge anyone with knowledge of the incident or relevant dashcam footage to come forward and assist the investigation.
