Two teenagers are in hospital with serious injuries after a knife attack in Manchester.

The police say they're working with specialist partners to safeguard the victims, after the attack on the A6 Stockport Road at around 12.30pm yesterday (Friday 25 April).

The two young men, aged 17 and 18, were taken to hospital by the emergency services.

No arrests have yet been made, and GMP say extensive enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances.

Road closures were in place on Friday afternoon along Stockport Road, including the junction of Kirkmanshulme Lane and the junction of Birch Lane.

Concerning

The police are appealing for witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage from the area, or anyone who may have crucial information which may assist with the progression of the investigation, to come forward.

Detective Inspector Geoff Machent from GMP's North Manchester district said: “We know that news of an incident of this nature will be concerning, especially owing to the ages of those involved.

“Additional patrols have been deployed to the area whilst we conduct further enquiries, and I would encourage anyone who has any information or concerns, to speak to our officers.”
