Cash, drugs and weapons have been seized by Greater Manchester Police's Op Venture Team. It follows a proactive vehicle pursuit and stop and search in Stockport town centre on Friday 14 November.

Two men aged 40 and 43, and 31-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The 43-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of going equipped.

All 3 now remain in custody.

Officers were deployed to the area for patrol, where they spotted a suspicious vehicle, which stopped on George Street West in Offerton after a short pursuit from Brinnington to the town centre.

After personal and house searches, officers seized approximately £10,000 in cash and a large amount of suspected heroine. Several razor blades, sharp tools and drug paraphernalia were also taken.

Detective Superintendent Richard Thompson said:

“The instincts and proactivity of our officers has resulted in illicit substances and potentially lethal weapons being removed from the streets of Stockport.

“Our team move across the force with the purpose of disrupting criminal networks, and deterring crimes which lead to serious violence. I have no doubt that yesterday’s stop will have prevented further crime from taking place.
