Two teenagers in hospital after double stabbing in Longsight

Police patrols have been stepped up.

An investigation's underway after a double stabbing in Longsight which has left two teenagers in hospital with serious injuries.

It happened on Stockport Road at around 12:30 this afternoon (Friday 25th April).

Emergency services attended and two males, aged 17 and 18, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries are underway to establish the circumstances.

Road closures were in place along Stockport Road, including the junction of Kirkmanshulme Lane and the junction of Birch Lane.

Police are appealing for witnesses, anyone with dashcam footage from the area, or anyone who may have crucial information which may assist with the progression of the investigation, to come forward.

Detective Inspector Geoff Machent from the North Manchester district said:

“We know that news of an incident of this nature will be concerning, especially owing to the ages of those involved.

“Extensive work is ongoing to identify and locate suspects, and we are working with a range of specialist partners to ensure the victims are safeguarded.

“Additional patrols have been deployed to the area whilst we conduct further enquiries, and I would encourage anyone who has any information or concerns, to speak to our officers.”
