Man suffers life-changing injuries after being hit by tipper truck in Salford

A man in his 40s has been left with life-changing injuries following a serious road traffic collision in Salford involving a reversing tipper truck.

The incident occurred at around 12.35pm on Monday 21st July 2025 on Littleton Road. According to Greater Manchester Police, a tipper truck reversed along the road and collided with a pedestrian who was working at the site.

Emergency services responded to the scene and the victim was taken to hospital. Police have since confirmed that his injuries are considered life-changing.

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving. He has been released on bail pending further investigations.

Police appeal for information

Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have footage of the incident.

A spokesperson for the unit said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
