A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a number of reports at addresses across Salford.

Greater Manchester Police said he remains in custody.

Officers attended an address on Kingsley Avenue in Kersal on Tuesday 6th October.

They went to further addresses on Albert Park Road and Nelson Street in Lower Broughton on Thursday 8th October.

Police said they were separate reports of criminal damage.

GMP’s Salford Neighbourhood Team is investigating the reports.

Police said the team will carry out a thorough investigation into the full circumstances, with the aim of identifying those responsible.

Officers will remain on patrol in the area while the investigation continues.

Chief Inspector Lee Gridley, Neighbourhoods lead in Salford, said: “The increasing number of incidents reflects a pattern of behaviour in the Salford area, and it is our priority to ensure this comes to an end.”

He said: “We recognise and support the public’s right to protest and will always work to facilitate lawful protest activity where possible.”

He said: “However, there is a clear distinction between protest, and criminal activity, and where this threshold is crossed, our officers will act in full accordance with the law.”

He said: “We will not tolerate incidents where properties are damaged or individuals are subjected to criminal acts.”

Police are urging anyone with information to get in touch, including anyone who witnessed the damage or has CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage.

Reports can be made on 0161 856 7137 or 101, quoting 1865 08/10/26.

People can also use the LiveChat function on the GMP website.

Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
