Salford City FC has appointed Peter Cklamovski as the new Men’s First Team Manager.

The 47-year-old joins the club from his role as Head Coach of the Malaysia national team.

Previously, Cklamovski coached in Japan and Australia, recognised for his attacking style and youth development focus.

"I'm here with a great opportunity to do something special, and it’s a great challenge," Cklamovski said.

"The owners have got lofty ambitions, the Club’s got big aspirations to achieve something special and that resonates with me."

He emphasised the importance of teamwork and a tenacious approach both on and off the field.

"Peter brings an elite and diverse experience to the club - delivering football that is proactive and on the front foot," CEO Gavin Fleig said.

"We look forward to introducing Peter to our supporters."

"Peter brings a style of football that we like to watch – exciting, attacking football," Chief Football Advisor Paul Scholes added.

Having begun his career in his native Australia, Cklamovski worked alongside Ange Postecoglu, contributing to Australia’s AFC Asian Cup success and World Cup qualifications.

His previous roles included managing Yokohama F. Marinos to a J1 League title and improving Montedio Yamagata’s performance in Japan’s J2 League.

Cklamovski's tenure at FC Tokyo saw record attendances and enhanced his reputation further.

Cklamovski will begin preparations for pre-season shortly, with more details on his coaching staff pending announcement.
