Police say there's no wider risk to the public
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died at an address in Rochdale.
Greater Manchester Police were called to a property on Great Howarth at around 7.39pm on Tuesday 11th August 2026 following reports of an unexpected death.
Officers who attended found a 31 year old man unresponsive inside the address.
CPR was carried out, but paramedics pronounced him dead shortly afterwards.
A 37-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning, police said.
Officers said they are exploring several lines of enquiry in what initially appears to be suspicious circumstances.
Detective Inspector Georgina Fearn, of Rochdale CID, said:
"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased. Specialist officers are available to support them.
"An investigation has been launched and whilst we currently have a woman in custody, we are conducting enquires to establish the circumstances which have led to this tragic incident.
"We understand that an incident of this nature may cause concern within the community however we believe there is no wider risk to the public."
