Bolton Police attend 'numerous reports' of fireworks being thrown

Officers say they have dealt with fireworks being thrown in the Queens Park and Boardman Street areas of Halliwell

Police in Bolton have dealt with fireworks being thrown in the Queens Park and Boardman Street areas of Halliwell.

Officers say teenagers have been lighting fireworks and throwing them towards people and police.

They're warning it could lead to serious injuries.

In a statement on social media last night (08/11), they said: "We have attended numerous reports of fireworks being thrown in the street tonight.

"Officers from the #Bolton North Neighbourhood Team have responded to multiple calls about fireworks being thrown around the #QueensPark area and Boardman Street area in #Halliwell.

"Numerous youths have been searched at each location.

"If your children are out this evening, do you know where they are and what they are doing?

"We have seen youths lighting fireworks in their hand and throwing them towards members of the public and police officers.

"This is not safe and can result in serious injury or death."
