Police appeal after teenager dies in Manchester road collision
Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage following fatal accident involving a Seat Ibiza

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for information after a tragic road traffic collision on Kingsway, Manchester, which resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy.
The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 pm on Friday, 2 January 2026, when a Seat Ibiza collided with the pedestrian, who was walking across the road.
The boy was rushed to hospital with serious injuries but sadly died.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the collision and has since been released on bail as investigations continue.
DC Antrobus of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “This is a tragic incident, and my thoughts are first and foremost with the family of the young boy who sadly lost his life. They are being supported by specialist officers, and we would ask that their privacy is respected as they grieve.
“We know that the local community will also be shocked and saddened to hear of this incident however we’d encourage anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time the incident occurred to please come forward. This also includes anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage of it.”
Police are appealing for anyone with information or dash-cam footage to come forward in order to support their investigation.
