Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the M60 motorway in Greater Manchester early this morning.

The crash happened at around 5:35am on the clockwise carriageway between Junction 8 for Carrington and Junction 9 for Trafford Park.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said a single vehicle, described as a gold Renault, is believed to have joined the motorway at Junction 8 before colliding with the central reservation. Tragically, the 62-year-old driver was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are continuing their enquiries and are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle prior to the collision, witnessed the incident itself, or who may have dash cam footage from the area at the time.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SCIU directly on 0161 856 4741 or use GMP’s Live Chat service at gmp.police.uk
